"Black and Blue" Eddie Condon Town Hall Concert featuring Muggsy Spanier 1944

Fortunately in the 1940's, unlike the 1920's, recording equipment existed enabling the recordings of important jazz concerts and radio shows like the Eddie Condon Floor Show, This Is Jazz, and the Jazz Nocturne broadcasts of Sidney Bechet from Boston. The recording here is from an Eddie Condon Town Hall concert of 1944 featuring Muggsy Spanier. I have included another Cat cartoon by Gene Deitch from the Record Changer magazine although this is not my favorite Cat cartoon which I will include in a future upload. There is one particular Cat cartoon that I like better than all the others put together but this is not the one. My alternate caption for this one is, "No, no, no, I am not looking for common jazz 78's like Okeh's. Don't you have any Black Patti or Herwin or Silver Screen or Golden label jazz 78's. Especially Jimmy Joy on the Golden label."
