How to Wear a Wig in the Water (Tutorial for Mermaiding and Cosplay): Swimming with Wigs- How do you keep a wig on your head when you're swimming in the water? This is an important thing to know how to do if you're a Professional Mermaid, underwater model, or a Cosplayer who plans on attending a cosplay pool party! This "How to Swim with a Wig" tutorial will teach you how to easily and quickly fasten your wig to your head. It works great for regular synthetic wigs as well as lacefront wigs (you will need to glue down the hairline with lacefronts though). This is the technique I've used to prevent my wig from falling off of my head while I swim in Lake Michigan. I've swam is some pretty nasty conditions (think large waves and lots of muck) and have not once had my wig fall off when using this method.
