We Had a Big Decision to Make...

Day 2 at Ponderosa State Park, and we woke up hoping for a simple fix to yesterday's RV electrical problem. We found it: a blown RV fuse in our KZ Durango Gold's power converter. A reverse polarity fuse. The problem? Nobody had a replacement. A full day of RV troubleshooting, driving every parts store in McCall, Idaho, then calling places as far as two hours away. Nobody had the fuse. Camping World was backed up for a week. The KZ office was closed. By the end of the day, we had one question: pack up and drive home with a half-working rig, or stay? We almost left. In between the stress, we took Heidi out to see what Ponderosa State Park actually has to offer. The visitor center, deluxe cabins on Payette Lake, a campground tour, and a squirrel with a serious attitude. Then a doe and her fawn stopped us in our tracks. We made our call. But honestly? We still weren't sure it was the right one. This is Part 2 of 3. Part 3 drops next week. Been in a tough spot mid-trip? Drop it in the comments. Would you have stayed or headed home? We are John and Brenda, a married couple traveling part-time in our fifth wheel with our dachshund, Heidi. Finally Free is about RV life after work — shared honestly, including the parts people don’t always talk about.
