DOING THE HARD THING

What an incredible lesson taught and learned today. Ryler was signed up for his competitive swim meet and super stoked about it. When he heard we had signed him up for the 100 yard breaststroke he nearly fell on the floor in tears. He said it was way too hard, that he'd be way too tired, and he'd embarrass himself because he would fail so badly. Well, in comes Mom telling him that in life you don't run away from the hard stuff just because you think you might fail. You get better at the hard stuff by doing the hard thing! That lesson hit home in the most powerful way for our little swimmer tonight.
