1979 Mercedes 300D W123 Refresh - Initial Inspection
Welcome to my refresh/restoration of this 1979 Mercedes 300D. The goal is to get the car to daily driver level and put it in a good position to survive the next 20 years and 200,000 miles. The 300D has the Mercedes OM 617 diesel engine - normally aspirated. The car shows 251,000 miles - but the previous owner indicated the odometer stopped working some time ago - and there are likely closer to 350,000 miles on this car. Follow along as we get the car in position for a potential cross country trip in July 2024.
