How to Handle the DARVO Method

DARVO is an acronym for Deny, Attack and Reverse Victim Offender. It is a term first coined by Psychologist Jennifer Freyd in the 1990's. A common tactic of narcissists, it refers to a form of manipulation which is aimed at shifting the focus from any wrong doing, to avoid any consequences, and attacking the victim in ways that allows them to switch roles. So the aggressor become the victim, the victim the aggressor. This video outlines some ideas to help manage yourself and your boundaries better when dealing with someone using the DARVO method.
