I went into Onimusha: Way of the Sword knowing absolutely nothing about the franchise and came away seriously impressed. After nearly two decades away, Capcom's samurai action series feels surprisingly modern thanks to its satisfying combat, soul absorption mechanics, environmental interactions, and an excellent final boss fight. While the demo leaves newcomers with questions about the story and world, the gameplay alone convinced me that Onimusha 2026 could become one of Capcom's next major hits.
