This animatic takes place in 1968 when Marvin is in his final year of high school. He has long tried to repress his feelings for his childhood family friend Adam (Trina's brother), but for how much longer can he keep that act up? The song shows how Marvin has always wanted to be the perfect child and make his parents proud (even when not exactly meeting those criteria cough In The Trousers *cough*) 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑 + 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐒 Adam is not a canon character in the Marvin Trilogy, I made him up. He's what you could call a headcanon/OC for me. He's bisexual if you were wondering. A lot of the things in this animatic are headcanons of mine, like how Marvin's parents are abusive and distant, how Trina and Marvin got married because of an accidental pregnancy, that they were chilhood family best friends, that their parents were friends and that they were both around 18-19 when Jason was born, and so forth. These headcanons were created in a roleplay with a friend of mine if you were wondering. 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗖 + 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗢𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦 (𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻-𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆) Marvin does kiss Adam but instantly regrets it as his disappointed father flashes through his mind. After telling Adam that he's just confused and that there's nothing in between them, he parts ways with his friend. Marvin ends up trying to prove his heterosexuality to himself by having sex with Trina, which leads to a pregnancy. When Trina is around 6 months pregnant (one year after Marvin and Adam's kiss), she and Marvin get married, the whole marriage ordeal being set up by their parents. Marvin's got everything he should want, a child on the way, a lovely wife, proud parents for once, but he still can't bring himself to genuinely smile on his wedding day. If you were wondering if Marvin and Adam eventually get in touch again, I'm not exactly sure. Both Marvin and Trina fall out of touch with him after their marriage, barely ever talking unless it's at family gatherings. However, after Whizzer's passing (Marvin's boyfriend) in 1980, I think that Adam would eventually find out about it and give him a call, to check in and stuff. They'd probably talk a bit about it and Adam would do his best to be there for Marvin, in a completely platonic way this time.
