Omnia Mantova - Perché quella del Salaro è l'ultima casa-torre mantovana?

After 194 years, Maurizio Norsa, owner of the Casa del Bianco, a masterpiece and cornerstone of Mantua's commercial history, is closing his business. The shop was located in the residence built in 1455 by the merchant Giovanni Boniforte da Concorezzo, a sophisticated example of late Gothic architecture between Piazza Erbe and Piazza Mantegna. It is a house-shop, or rather the last tower-house, because the residence is adjacent to the Torre del Salaro or Torre dei Poltroni, and incorporates it. For Omnia Mantova, Stefano Scansani, with images by Nicola Saccani, takes us on a fascinating journey: from the shop with eighteenth-century furnishings to the Romanesque foundations, from the medieval tunnels and well to the rooms dating back to the communal era, where a fifteenth-century safe is located.
