I bought a single-component Mechanic UV-curable solder mask. It's a green varnish used to coat circuit boards to protect them from external influences. Once cured, it's durable enough to prevent short circuits caused by a screwdriver or other conductive metal objects hitting the board, and it also provides excellent chemical protection. The circuit board's traces don't oxidize or corrode. Applying this varnish to the board isn't as easy as it might seem. There are several methods for applying solder mask to the board in an even, thin layer at home. Simply spreading it with a roller or rubber spatula isn't effective; the resulting layer will be uneven and unsightly. I'm currently interested in how this varnish performs under UV light and how quickly it will cure. To do this, I'll apply a thin layer of varnish to the PCB and shine a UV flashlight on it. A few seconds are enough for the surface to set, but some experts recommend exposing it to UV light for about an hour for complete curing. Direct sunlight can also be used instead of a UV lamp. After just 30 seconds, the surface of the polish has become thickly crusted, and the thin layer has almost completely hardened. The polish can no longer be removed, but it's still quite soft.
