The importance of 'miracles' to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's message is, in His own words, like the importance of a fly sitting on an elephant! The miracles are not for pradarshana (display) but for nidarshana (enlightenment). Here are two such miracles, real life stories which are more fantastic than reel-life stories. They will make our jaws drop in awe and wonder no doubt, but they also teach us valuable lessons. While demonstrating how Swami is a silent worker, they answer the questions, "How to become worthy of God's protection?" and "Why is it important to help and serve others?" Both these episodes have been narrated to me by a long-standing and stalwart devotee, Sri T.G.Krishnamurthy, whom I address as TGK Uncle. One of them happened in Kodaikanal in the 1980s and the other in early 1990s.
