We've started the first drip irrigation work of the 2026 season. Because planting was delayed this year due to rainfall, we only started laying the drip lines on June 12th, when they should have been installed much earlier. In this video, we're laying drip irrigation hoses for a total of 53 acres of cornfield. We're starting with a 35-acre cornfield using our old drip irrigation machine, which has served us well for years. Then we move to a two-part, 18-acre cornfield in the Keşen area and lay the drip irrigation hoses there as well. Later in the day, we prepare the main pipe, fabric pipe/polynet, and filter system for another 35-acre section. The video doesn't just show the drip irrigation installation; it also details how our old drip irrigation machine works, how we operate with 10 pulleys, how we connect the row ends using the single stake method, and how the drip irrigation hoses expand in the heat and shorten overnight and with water. We're demonstrating, based on our own experience, why it's necessary to leave 1-2 meters of extra space at the ends of hoses, especially for those using drip irrigation, and why it's crucial to check the water level after the first watering. Meanwhile, we're constantly monitoring the rain radar. With frontal rainfall, convective rainfall, hail risk, and approaching rain masses in the Konya Plain, we're trying to get the work done while also hoping for rain. After laying the drip irrigation system in the corn fields, we're updating the schedule and moving on to preparing for foliar fertilizer and hilling for the sunflowers.
