Drought Harvest: The 2023 LaRosh Wheat Harvest

Extreme drought persisted in north-central Kansas throughout most of 2023, after a very dry winter. This resulted in poor wheat crops and fall crops. Jhan LaRosh tells the story of this year's wheat harvest-- one of the worst in years. This year's harvest only lasted a few days. Most fields could not even be harvested due to low yields and poor, short wheat. The LaRoshes harvested wheat mostly just to reseed for the next season. Since 2012, LaRosh wheat harvest videos have been a staple of online agriculture video. The tradition continues here. The LaRosh farm is a multi-generational family farm in north-central Kansas. The first homestead was established in this area in 1871.
