Remington Model 121

Next up is the Remington Model 121 Fieldmaster (c.1947) made from 1936 to 1954 to upgrade the iconic John Pedersen designed Remington Model 12 which had been going strong since 1909. This rifle is a .22 S/L/LR chambered pump/slide action tube magazine fed repeater that was purchased as a non-functional "gunsmith special" from a LGS and sat for a number of years on my back burner as it would not feed from the magazine correctly and my few attempts to fix it were unsuccessful. Brought out for a short form video to just feature it quickly "as is" turned into a fascinating exploration into its refinement designers C. C. Loomis and G. H. Harrison and the patents they have for the changes they made which led to a deeper understanding of exactly what was causing the rifle to malfunction. Come along with me here in the Milsurp Garage as we explore those patents and take a real close look at this fine rifle.
