The heritage has been passed from generation to generation since the ancestors. Those who are interested in traditional Japanese garden art, we are always welcome for you to open the gate. http://www.tokanen.com/ Stone Lanterns are lighting equipment used in worshipping shrines or temples as well as designing gardens. It was born from the needs of faith and tea ceremony originally. And nowadays it becomes part of the culture because of the elegant art value. The main purpose of stone lanterns is lighting up the space. Hence, the core of Stone Lanterns is the center called "HIBUKURO". Adding decoration and function centered on HIBUKURO makes it into A Stone Lantern. Let's take a look at the parts in detail from the bottom. On the ground where the stone lanterns are placed, it is necessary to be able to bear the weight of the hard stones. Hence a foundation stone called the "JIRIN" is placed in the bottom. The middle pillar is called "SAO" which is the part that supports the whole. The central stone is called "CHUDAI" which usually is designed symmetrically to JIRIN. "HIBUKURO" is the most important part of stone lanterns, which fire or light shall be placed in. "KASA" is to protect the HIBUKURO as a roof. In Japan, South Korea, and China, the shape of KASA is distinct in each country. In Japan, the shape of the tip is curves upward. "HOUJU" is placed on the roof of the "KASA", and its shape of the orb is a design of the lotus flower.
