Today, we venture into a massive abandoned mining complex hidden within a shale landscape. Mining operations began here in the 1970s and continued until 2010, when the site was shut down for over a decade. In 2020–2021, the mine was purchased by an investment group and mining briefly resumed. However, the operation didn’t last long, and the site was abandoned once again. Today, the area is being cleared — and access is no longer guaranteed. Exploring places like this comes with risks, uncertainty, and unanswered questions.
