Is this the last chance to save the Sarmiento Line in Buenos Aires? 🚂🏙️ Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura has launched three new tenders for track renewal on pending sections between Once and Moreno, including improvements to stations like Ciudadela and Moreno, track switch replacements, and level crossing renovations. This comes in addition to the projects urgently reactivated after the derailment in Liniers. However, this major project brings to the forefront the crucial debate: if they're going to lift the tracks, remove equipment, and carry out such extensive earthmoving on the local section... why insist on temporary fixes instead of finally tackling the railway TRENCH project? 🏗️🤔 In this video, we analyze: 👉 The details of the new tenders and which sections will be renovated. 👉 Why viaducts or the permanent undergrounding are no longer economically viable. 👉 The trench project (similar to the Mitre Line or the historic Caballito section) as the only cheap, fast, and definitive solution to eliminate level crossings in the City of Buenos Aires without dividing neighborhoods.
