Manual / staffed level crossing at Dullingham near Cambridge

Manual level crossings are increasingly rare in the UK as they are being upgraded for safety and cost reasons. This charming crossing is at Dullingham station, between Cambridge and Newmarket and is served by Greater Anglia railways. I had not intended to film the level crossing but I just happened to be passing through. The signalman in charge is a splendid chap, ensuring safe passage for all with cheery zeal. Music is Mozart's divertimento, recorded specially for HistoryNeedsYou, ©2020. ––––––––––––––––––––––––– #Levelcrossings #Cambridge #Mozart Filmed and produced by http://www.historyneedsyou.com Please subscribe to HistoryNeedsYou for more history and heritage.
