Hello friends, welcome to the Tô na Roça channel! In today's video, we'll answer several questions about planting cupuaçu. HOW TO PLANT CUPUAÇU? Using Seeds, Seedlings, Grafting, What is the Spacing Between Plants? Should we plant cupuaçu in the shade or full sun? Cupuaçu is a fruit native to the Amazon and can be grown from seeds or seedlings. Grafting is not common for this species. Below is a basic guide to planting cupuaçu: Choose a location with well-drained soil, rich in organic matter and with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Make holes approximately 40x40x40 cm in size and add manure or organic compost to the soil in the hole. If planting from seeds, place one seed in each hole, with the pointed end facing upwards, at a depth of 2 to 3 cm. If planting seedlings, carefully remove them from the plastic bag to avoid damaging the roots and plant them in the hole. Leave a spacing of about 5 to 8 meters between plants. Water regularly to keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging. Fertilize each plant every 3 months with organic or chemical fertilizer. Prune the plant to shape it, removing lateral branches that grow below the desired height. From the third or fourth year, the plant begins to produce fruit. Harvesting usually takes place from February to August. Remember that cupuaçu is a plant that requires specific attention and care to achieve good development and production.
