Dallas: Cliff’s plot against the Ewings.

Season 2 Episode 19: Sue Ellen’s Sister Cliff attempts to persuade Wally Kessel to apply pressure on the Ewings instead of giving them the Palm Seco field or the leases to drill there. When Kessel tells Cliff that he still needs money to keep his land, Cliff claims that his father will come up with the money since Cliff wants to avoid a conflict of interests with the OLM. Cliff knows that if the Ewings can’t drill on the land, it will be costly. Cliff sees it as an opportunity to get back at the Ewings. During dinner at Southfork, Jock reminds J.R. that if they don’t get the leases from Kessel and drill soon, Ewing-Oil might go under. J.R. suspects that Cliff has convinced Kessel to apply pressure.
