Its Prime Minister, Chief Leabua Jonathan, has always been regarded by Pretoria as one of black Africa's least troublesome leaders. But the Chief publicly declared his support for African nationalist freedom fighters in their struggle against the white governments of southern Africa. In this report we take a close look at Lesotho, examine its recent history and question Chief Jonathan on his attitudes to the giant white-ruled neighbour on his doorstep.
