D&S Double Header Delight: Silverton Adventure Preparing for the Return Journey #sp18 #493 #durango

Welcome to Your Hobby Connection! The double header train trip saga has been completed! Now once the passengers are off the train, the train crew has to prepare the train for the return trip back into Durango. They do this by turning the whole train around on what is known as a Wye in the Railroad world. A Wye looks almost like the letter "Y" where you have 2 legs that tie in the mainline and the tail of the Wye where you pull or back the train onto and then use the opposite leg to turn the train around. In Silverton with such a long train the D&S has to get creative in order to turn the whole train around, which is pretty involved and unique process to capture on film!
