A Bicycle Tour of Portland: Here’s What Made It Awesome

In this Portland, Oregon bicycle tour, we set out to explore the city the best way we know how: by bicycle. This ride turned into a little bit of everything we love about Eat Drink Bike — neighborhood bike routes, coffee, tea, bookstores, local food, bike shops, bridges, and even a gravel ride through Forest Park. We started in Sellwood, rode through Portland’s neighborhood streets and bike paths, stopped by Splendid Cycles, crossed the river, explored Nob Hill and Hawthorne, visited Powell’s Books, had one of our favorite meals of the entire Pacific Northwest trip at Mama Chow’s, grabbed Stumptown coffee, and finished with a ride on Leif Erikson Drive through Forest Park. This isn’t a technical cycling video or a strict route guide. It’s a Portland bike tour through the things that make the city feel special: bike culture, walkable neighborhoods, good food, local drinks, bookstores, and the feeling that a touring bike, gravel bike, commuter bike, or bikepacking setup can turn a city into an adventure. If you’re into bike touring, bikepacking, alt bikes, city bike rides, commuter cycling, gravel bikes, food adventures, and casual travel vlogs, this one is for you.
