STIHL MS 300 | STIHL Petrol Forestry Chainsaw | Professional 50cc Chainsaw | STIHL GB
Meet the STIHL MS 300, a new professional petrol forestry chainsaw designed for foresters, arborists and demanding users who need a powerful, lightweight and easy-to-handle saw for everyday forestry work. Replacing the STIHL MS 261 C-M, the MS 300 has been completely redeveloped to deliver outstanding performance in the 50cc chainsaw class. With fast acceleration, high torque, improved fuel economy and a compact new design, this STIHL chainsaw is ideal for felling and processing medium-sized trees. The STIHL MS 300 petrol chainsaw combines a low powerhead weight of just 4.8 kg with a larger 53.3 cc engine and 3.3 kW power output. It also delivers a 15% increase in torque compared to the MS 261 C-M, helping the saw feel less pressure-sensitive when cutting larger timber and reducing the chance of it bogging down mid-cut. As with STIHL’s other professional petrol chainsaws, the MS 300 features the latest STIHL M-Tronic technology for easy starting and rapid acceleration. The result is a responsive, high-performance forestry chainsaw that is ready to work hard in demanding conditions. The new design also makes the MS 300 chainsaw exceptionally easy to handle. Low gyroscopic forces, a compact body and improved rear handle geometry help make tasks such as felling, limbing, snedding and plunge cutting more comfortable and controlled. To support accurate cutting, the MS 300 features a felling line on the top cover, as well as two parallel plunge-cutting direction lines on the fan housing. These markings run in line with the chain and bar, helping guide the saw during tree felling and making them especially useful when learning or refining felling techniques. Practical improvements have been added throughout the machine. An optimised rib pattern on the underside helps the saw glide along the trunk when snedding, while the new 50% fuel marker on the petrol tank gives a quick indication of fuel level. The larger-surface-area HD2 filter helps reduce maintenance and downtime, and improved access to the oil pump allows oil flow to be adjusted quickly using a standard combination tool. The STIHL MS 300 forestry chainsaw comes fitted with a STIHL Light 04 guide bar and a 1.3 mm full chisel RS PRO chain, with a choice of round or HEXA profile. For easier sharpening and longer-lasting cutting performance, the STIHL HEXA chain uses a patented hexagonal file that fits the tooth profile for a fast, accurate and high-quality sharpening result. For technical specifications such as vibration values, always check the correct bar and chain combination on the STIHL website or speak to your local STIHL Approved Dealer.
