Freizeitsee, Wisseler See, Kalkar

This lake is an artificial bathing lake located in the Wissel district of Kalkar, in the Kleve district. It was created from a former gravel pit and is now primarily a popular beach resort. The water quality is consistently rated as excellent, so much so that in 1990 the lake became the first German inland body of water to be awarded the European Union's Blue Flag environmental symbol.
