Kutaisi could have easily become the capital of Georgia. It could have been the cultural, industrial, political, and economic center of the country, but history decreed otherwise. We are talking about this because Kutaisi had the prerequisites to become a developed, prosperous city, moreover, in its long history there were periods when the city became the center of the Georgian state. But today Kutaisi is going through hard times, and is perhaps the most underrated city in Georgia. This video is not a criticism of Kutaisi, but an attempt to understand how the city came to its current status, to understand the problems and prospects, because it is interesting. And, as we like, we will understand based on history and architecture. This video is not a standard blogger review of the city, but an author's view of the past, present, and future of the capital of Imereti through the prism of economics and politics, but we will, of course, also share tourist impressions of Kutaisi.
