Motorcyclists : How Deliberate Is Your Riding? | POV Demonstration Ride

This is my first experiment with a text to speech generator and I appreciate it isn't truly great or everyone's cup of tea but I wanted to try it anyway. I have laid it over the first part of a 'demonstration ride' in the hope that it will prompt some reflection amongst riders and be helpful as a comparison or something against which others can measure or consider their own road riding. I'm not claiming it is a perfect ride, I doubt there is such an animal to be honest but hopefully it does offer, if nothing else, some food for thought for riders new and old. If you have any questions, either about the demonstration or the introductory commentary I'm happy to answer your comments and/or discuss any aspects of both and there are certainly many other issues and considerations that I haven't gone into in any great depth here. This video is about positioning, making full use of the road available to you for your own benefit and safety margins and includes things like following distances and building space ahead, behind and around you as well as where you are actually placing your motorcycle on the road itself. This is an aspect of riding that should never be underestimated in terms of its value with regard to safety, smoothness and control. It definitely isn't something that should be neglected. It is also about observation, anticipation, planning and the actions and reactions you take in response to all information you are gathering. The ever popular topic of bends and cornering is also touched upon and demonstrated - another area where positioning makes very significant differences, both positive and negative, depending upon how you go about it. (I should add a disclaimer that I retired from official motorcycle instruction some time ago, having been actively teaching riders from the mid 1980's until the mid 2000's).
