Lake Alma State Park - Our New Favorite?? May 2022 - Episode 20

Last minute decision to visit Lake Alma State Park Tuesday through Friday,- May 10-13, 2022, after seeing the beautiful weather forecast for that week! As weekday campers, we have found that good sites are often readily available at many Ohio State Parks, without having to book 6 months in advance. Since we always try to find "just the right site" to meet our preferences, we did book everything in advance in 2021, but this year we have left some weeks open in hopes of avoiding some cold and rainy weeks of camping. So with temperatures forecasted in the 80's for the first time after a very cold winter and spring, we wanted to find a campground with a lake that might be warm enough to finally go kayaking again! We figured the water would be warmer somewhere further south with a relatively small lake, and we wanted to try a state park that we had not yet been to, in our quest to camp at every Ohio SP. So we decided to try Lake Alma, without knowing a whole lot about it, but it turned out to be a good decision!
