Unknown Side of MtG - Weird Old Effect Text - Alpha
Magic is a complex game with a complex rules system, and to help players navigate all of these new things they have to learn, the designers are careful to be very consistent and clear with the rules text of the cards. If only they had held to that principle from day one. In the early days of magic, they were still getting a hang of how to design a card game, so things like templating, being consistent, and readable wasn’t necessarily obvious to everyone. Today, we’re going to look at the first set of magic and talk about some of the less than stellar templating decisions they made back in the day.
