Dobra Chanthi Bridge is India’s longest motorable single-lane suspension bridge 440m ft. R. S. Yadav

Completion of the construction of this bridge across the Tehri dam reservoir will benefit more than three lakh people who will not have to cover an additional 100 kilometres to reach the district headquarters. The tourists visiting New Tehri will also be able to visit Pratapnagar. Improvement in connection is also expected to improve the local economy. After the fixing of railings and coating, the authorities will secure the road safety no objection certificate. This 440-meter long bridge will be the nation’s longest single-lane motorable suspension bridge. After other organisations failed, the Government got the bridge designing done by a Korean company. The cost of constructing this bridge is about Rs 150 crore. Out of the total 440 meter span of the bridge, the work of laying deck has been completed on 250 meter length while work is underway on the remaining length. It will be opened for traffic by March 2020. It is pertinent to mention here that the construction of this bridge has been going on since 2006 to link the Tehri dam affected Pratapnagar and Thauldhar areas. The bridges linking Pratapnagar were submerged in the Tehri dam reservoir which led to inconvenience to the locals travelling to and from New Tehri, Dehradun and Rishikesh. उत्तराखंड में 14 सालों से जिस Dobra Chanthi Pul  के बनने का इंतज़ार हो रहा है,  वो इंतज़ार अब 2020 तक खत्म हो जाएगा। 14 साल से टिहरी गढ़वाल के साथ -साथ उत्तराखंड की जनता जिस वैभवशाली पुल के बनने का सपना देख रही थी, वो सपना  मार्च 2020  तक पूरा हो जाएगा। पुल पर अब फाइनल फिनिशिंग का काम शुरू कर दिया है। 440 मीटर लंबा डोबरा चांठी पुल भारत का सबसे लम्बा मोटरेवल सिंगल लेन झूला पुल है। ये प्रतापनगर और थौलधार को जोड़ने का काम करेगा। झील के ऊपर 850 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर मुख्य पुल को जोड़ने के लिए 24 रोप को आर-पार करवाना सबसे बड़ी चुनौती थी। ये काम 5 महीने में पूरा हो पाया। पुल के बनने से 3 लाख से ज़्यादा की आबादी को जिला मुख्यालय तक आने के लिए 100 किलोमीटर की लंबी दूरी नहीं नापनी पड़ेगी। पुल के लिए 20-20 टन के 24 रोप लग गए। 5-5 मीटर के फासले पर झील की तरफ क्लैंप, सस्पेंडर का काम भी पूरा हो गया। डोबरा की तरफ 260 मीटर की आरसीसी और चांठी की तरफ 25 मीटर एप्रोच पुल का काम पूरा हो चुका है। इसके साथ ही 58-58 मीटर के चार टॉवर भी यहां तैयार किए गए हैं। साल 2012 तक इस पुल पर करीब 1 अरब 32 करोड़ खर्च किए गए थे। साल 2015 में एक अरब 74 करोड़ रुपये पुल के लिए फिर से स्वीकृत हुए और तब जाकर Dobra Chanti Pul का निर्माण फिर से शुरू करवाया गया। Don't forget to like and share this video.
