The Only Woman to Rule China as Emperor - Wu Zetian
Wu Zetian was the only female emperor in Chinese history. She began her reign in 690 and died in 705. Wu was born in 624 in the Chinese city of Lizhou (modern-day Guangyuan in Sichuan Province). Her father was Wu Shihuo, and her mother was Lady Yang. She lived with her family in Lizhou until the age of 14.
