SERAMBINEWS.COM – The Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen has again issued threats to Gulf states hosting US military bases. The Houthis warned that any country that allows its territory to be used to launch attacks against Iran risks being drawn directly into a wider conflict. The warning comes amid rising tensions after the United States launched renewed attacks on several targets in Iran. This situation has sparked fears of a renewed conflict in the Middle East. This is especially true after the previously agreed ceasefire is considered increasingly fragile. In a statement quoted by the Times of India on Friday (July 10, 2026), the Houthis also threatened to again target Saudi Arabia's vital infrastructure if Gulf states provide military support to the United States in operations against Iran. This threat has raised concerns among Gulf states such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, which currently host several US military bases. The Houthi's latest warning is also considered to increase the risk of the conflict escalating into a regional war if the escalation between the United States and Iran continues.
