Nur weitere verzweifelte Versuche? Trabant 1.1 Quick Trans und Caro Up Pick Up Prototypen.
#trabant #prototype #oldtimer The Trabant 1.1 Quick Trans was an ambitious vehicle project from the final phase of the GDR, but it never went into series production. Based on the standard Trabant, the Quick Trans was designed as a practical variant with an increased payload. But the political and economic upheavals of reunification in 1989/90 meant the end of the GDR automobile industry before the Quick Trans had a real chance on the market. Only five prototypes were built. Michael Weiß, an expert and owner of one of these rare vehicles, tells the fascinating story behind this model. The Trabant Caro Up is not to be confused with the Quick Trans. This vehicle project was also based on the Trabant 1.1, but had a different goal. In order to increase sales after the fall of the Berlin Wall, design studies were commissioned to make the Trabant appear more modern and contemporary. Both models are examples of the creative approaches and challenges of the GDR automobile industry in its final phase.
