This video is an extensive guide on the Angler. In this I provide builds easy to obtain and upgrade for free to play players, and general tips and advice on how to play the Angler. DISCLAIMER : I'm am not saying you'll 100% do good with any of those builds. You need some time to get used to the robot and its playstyle in order to actually perform well. Also you, while it is really underrated and can perform well with the builds I'm presenting, when reaching higher leagues like Masters and Champions it becomes really important to remember that any robot (even meta ones, but it's especially true for non meta robots) needs to be upgraded to AT LEAST MK2 to consistently do good. So if you try these builds on your Angler and don't immediatly do good, that's normal : just give it some time, and upgrade it to mk2 if you feel like it. Doing so isn't too expensive and it shouldn't take you too much time to do so, even as a free to play.
