This time, we will explain how to easily diagnose whether there is a "chest wall fixation" in the diagnosis of T (primary lesion) of breast cancer. If there is invasion of the pectoralis major muscle, does it mean there is invasion of the chest wall? Actually, this is not true. The "chest wall" consists of the ribs, intercostal muscles, and serratus anterior muscle, so even if there is invasion of the pectoralis major muscle, there is no invasion of the chest wall. Of course, if there is invasion of the pectoralis major muscle, it must be noted (because there may be additional resection of the pectoralis major muscle or postoperative radiation therapy), but it does not mean that the cancer is "unresectable".
