Das Problem heißt Ian Gillan! Mein Review zum neuen Deep-Purple-Album mit klarer Meinung - SPLAT!

Deep Purple are back... again – but how good is their new album, "Splat!"? In this review, I'll be taking a close look at the rock legends' latest studio album. One thing's for sure about Deep Purple: their output is impressive. In the last 15 years alone, they've released five studio albums and a cover album – a level of productivity you'd hardly expect from a band with such a long history. Musically, "Splat!" pleasantly surprised me. The songs are strong, the songwriting is compelling, and for me, the album is even better than its two immediate predecessors. The band proves once again that they can still write great rock music after decades. However, there's one aspect that significantly detracts from the listening experience for me: Ian Gillan's vocals. His unmistakable style is inextricably linked to Deep Purple, but unfortunately, his vocal limitations are now quite audible. For longtime fans, this is sometimes painful, as you can hear how much his voice has deteriorated over the years. In my opinion, the vocals unfortunately detract noticeably from what is otherwise a strong album. Is "Splat!" still a successful Deep Purple album? I discuss this in detail in this video. What do you think? Does the new album convince you, or is Ian Gillan's vocals now a real problem? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments!
