First flight of 6m very flexible airplane X-HALE-BR
On October 31st, 2019, the LNCA completed the first flight of the X-HALE-BR, a very flexible airplane. This model was designed to exhibit a level of flexibility that typically appears on High Altitude Long Endurance airplanes, with very high aspect ratio wing. We are using this testbed with several goals: study the use of different sensors in measuring the structural flexibility; validating simulation models developed at LNCA-ITA; designing and testing different active vibration control laws.
