Karin Larsson (1859 – 1928, Sweden) was a pioneering artist and designer whose work has left a lasting mark on modern interior design. In this video, we’ll explore how Karin has influenced IKEA’s interior design and her innovative approach to colour, patterns, and simplicity, which continues to inspire and shape contemporary design today. But Karin has always been overshadowed by her husband Carl Larsson. It’s time we change that! Hilma af Klint, mentioned in the video, HIlma believed people wouldn’t understand her abstract works, so she instructed in her will that her paintings be kept secret for at least 20 years after her death.
