Fix Steering Play on Old Ford Trucks (Cheap and Easy!)
If your old Ford truck still has play in the steering after checking and replacing tie rods, ball joints, and the steering box, your steering shaft may be the culprit. Using cheap feeler gauges, the joint in the steering shaft can be shimmed to eliminate most of the play.
