Liquid Sulfur

Sulfur exists in S8 molecules. When sulfur initially melts those molecules remain in tact. A straw colored liquid with low viscosity forms. As the sulfur continues to heat the S8 molecules break down and form long polymer changes. The color shifts to red and dark brown while the viscosity increases tremendously. Here we pour the liquid sulfur into cold water to rapidly cool down the liquid. It forms a stretchy sulfur substance that slowly reverts back to S8 molecules over time as the sulfur freezes.
