Ängelholm station

The film shows Ängelholm railway station. It shows some trains, the train station and part of its surroundings. In addition, a bit of Ängelholm's main square is shown, as well as Pyttebron, a former railway bridge. Ängelholm's first station was built in 1875, for the Landskrona-Ängelholm railway (via Billesholm and Åstorp). It was closed in 1886, when the new and current station, located approx. 1 km further north, opened. In the same year, the Malmö-Billesholm railway opened (via Kävlinge). In addition, the Halmstad-Falkenberg-Varberg railway was completed. 1888 The railway to Gothenburg was completed. In 1892, trains could run the entire distance Gothenburg-Ängelholm-train ferry station in Helsingborg, and between Gothenburg-Ängelholm-Malmö. In 1896, the state redeemed the railways on these routes. 1904-1953 there was also a railway between Ängelholm and Klippan. It passed over the so-called Pyttebron, which is now used as a pedestrian and bicycle bridge. The bridge got its name from the Pyttor (hens in Scanian) who occasionally walked on the bridge. In 2016, the bridge was renovated and in 2020 it was decided that the bridge should be demolished. Why the politicians want to demolish a newly renovated, well-functioning bridge (which also seems to be liked by those who live in Ängelholm), I have not been able to get clarity on. The film was recorded in July 2022.
