Luke 10:38-42 - What matters the most

Luke 10:38-42 tells the story of Jesus visiting the home of Martha and Mary. While Martha busies herself with serving, Mary chooses to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His teaching. When Martha complains that Mary isn’t helping, Jesus gently corrects her, saying that Mary has chosen "the good portion," which will not be taken from her. This passage challenges us to examine our priorities—are we so consumed with doing for Jesus that we neglect simply being with Him? It’s a call to choose what is truly necessary: time in His presence, hearing His word, and resting in His grace.
