The Adana-Antalya coastal road offers travelers a wonderful natural experience. As this road winds along the Taurus Mountains, the blue waters of the Mediterranean are on one side and the greenery of the Taurus Mountains on the other. It's impossible to show all of these locations in the video, so tunnel crossings, winding sections, and areas facing the sea are shown instead. Road and tunnel construction sites are among the most challenging structures in engineering. In this context, I've been using this road regularly since 2009 and have been monitoring the work twice a year. I should mention that the journey between Ceyhan and Antalya City Center, which used to take 12 hours in previous years, has now been reduced to 9 hours. Unlike in previous years, we have to allocate some time for charging this year, but this time is beneficial for safe driving. Charging stations are indicated on this road, and you can charge at two points for approximately 20 minutes before arriving. If there aren't any charging stations at your destination, you can simply charge your car again along the way, as we did, and avoid having to worry about charging at your destination. The tunnels and viaducts in the completed section have made the road considerably more comfortable compared to three years ago. It has been understood that final work is underway to connect several tunnels to the road. Work on the Anamur-Gazipaşa section is still ongoing, and completing this section is crucial for shortening the journey. This section alone takes an average of 1.5 hours due to the winding and narrow mountain road. 17 tunnels and viaducts have already been opened on this road, and I see that construction of three or four more tunnels and viaducts is ongoing along the road. Due to the construction of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant near Büyükeceli, roadwork has been completed compared to three years ago. If you have time on this road, you can visit many archaeological sites very close to the road. In this case, it would be a good idea to stop somewhere in between (likely around Bozyazı). Some of the archaeological sites along the way include Kızkalesi (Maiden's Castle), Cennet Cehennem (Heaven and Hell), Kanlıdivane (Blood), Mamure Castle, Uzuncaburç (Uzuncaburç), Anamur Archaeological Site, Soğuksu (Soguksu), Aydıncık (Aydıncık), Aspendos (Aspendos), Side Ancient City, and Perge. Bozyazı Teacher's Lodge is a good choice for this purpose. It's located in a quiet seaside location and has its own private beach. Gilindere Cave, also known as Aynalı Gölü (Mirrored Lake), near Aydıncık, is another natural wonder worth visiting along the way. It's been extensively developed for tourism, and upon entering, a magical world awaits you. If you go all the way to the end of the cave, you can see Aynalı Gölü (Mirrored Lake), which also connects to the sea. The cave's numerous stairs may be a problem for older people and children under 4-5.
