DOJ Announces Historic $6.5 Billion Health Care Fraud Crackdown

At the U.S. Department of Justice headquarters, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced what officials described as the largest combined federal and state effort to combat health care fraud in American history. The DOJ revealed charges against 455 individuals in just two weeks connected to alleged fraud schemes totaling $6.5 billion involving Medicaid, Medicare, and other health care programs. Blanche was joined by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., FBI Director Kash Patel, and other federal officials as they outlined the nationwide effort to protect taxpayers and hold those accused of fraud accountable.
