LIVE EVIL is Dope Purple’s newest release, a live album recorded on June 14, 2025 at The Wall in Taipei. Rather than simply revisiting material from past records, this performance expands and mutates it. In addition to debuting an unreleased new track, “LxOxVxE,” the band invited Kawabata Makoto of Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O.—a towering figure of Japanese psychedelic rock—to reinterpret Dope Purple’s songs through sheets of roaring electric guitar. To commemorate Dope Purple’s European tour, we remixed the recordings from that night and asked Takeshi Yoshida—formerly a mastering engineer associated with the legendary Japanese underground label P.S.F. Records—to handle the vinyl mastering. The psychedelic inferno of June 14, 2025 is now resurrected in analog form. I hope listeners in the foreign countries can experience what happened that night.Turn the volume all the way up !!
