Ashley Benefield, a former swimsuit model and ballerina was charged with murdering her husband and father of her child, Doug Benefield on September 27th, 2020 in Florida. The pair had met in 2016 at a dinner part during the presidential campaign and just thirteen days later, 24-year-old Ashley married 54-year-old Doug, who had lost his wife nine months earlier. Benefield has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently out on bond (after she spent two weeks in jail). The jury was selected on July 22nd, 2024.
