On June 18, 2026, the Pelplin University of the Third Age held its 2025/2026 academic year at the Pelplin Municipal Public Library. This year's event was special, as the University, led by Dorota Sakowska, celebrated its 18th anniversary. The ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the past academic year, filled with educational activities, meetings, trips, interest-building activities, and team-building events. There was plenty of emotion, thanks, and the presentation of diplomas to all students who actively participated in the University's activities throughout the year. The Pelplin University of the Third Age has enjoyed considerable popularity among residents for years, particularly women, who constitute the majority of participants. Their commitment, eagerness to acquire knowledge, develop passions, and actively spend their time inspire many younger generations. During the ceremony, thanks were extended to all those involved in the University's daily operations and organization, who make it possible to implement a rich program for seniors. The event was also attended by invited guests, including Mirosław Chyła, Mayor of the Town and Commune of Pelplin; Jakub Zieliński, Chairman of the Pelplin Town Council; Piotr Łaga, Director of the Municipal Cultural Center; Maciej Laskowski, Director of the Municipal Social Welfare Center; and Rafał Deska, Director of the Pelplin Secondary School Complex. In conclusion, all participants were wished a successful and safe summer break and invited to participate in the next academic year, 2026/2027. The organizers emphasize that new participants are also welcome to join the group, as they wish to actively pursue their interests and participate in the life of the local community.
