Appalachian Highlands

APPALACHIAN HIGHLANDS This song was inspired by the Scots-Irish and Highland settlers who crossed the Atlantic and traveled south along the Great Wagon Road into the Appalachian Mountains. They carried little with them but their faith, their music, their traditions, and their determination. Many found a familiar home among the misty ridges of Appalachia, where old songs and customs would endure for generations. Even the mountains themselves share an ancient connection. Long before the continents separated, the Appalachian Mountains and the Scottish Highlands were part of the same mountain chain. This song honors that journey and the people who made it.
