A new Grid Transformer for Trawsfynydd Substation circa 1966
This film charts the delivery by sea and road of a large transformer for the grid substation located at the Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station site. The shipment occurred in the mid-1960s when both the Ffestiniog and Trawsfynydd Power Stations had been recently opened. The route from Porthmadog crossed the Cob, through Minfordd, Penrhyndeudraeth, Maentwrog and up the 'newly' widened road to Trawsfynydd.
