After publicly denouncing on a television program the abuse her ex-husband had subjected her to for 40 years, he burned her alive days later. It was, without a doubt, a turning point in the fight against gender-based violence in Spain. Although this case marked a turning point against gender-based violence, the reality is that many women continue to suffer this violence in their daily lives. We heard the testimony of María Teresa Alarcón, who managed to survive the brutal attacks by her ex-partner.
